Fiscal Sponsorship for Africa‑Led Organizations
Your impact is already proven. We give it global reach.
Give to Africa’s fiscal sponsorship program connects established, grant‑ready African nonprofits and institutions to US‑based donors, foundations, and international funding — without requiring you to form a US nonprofit.
We are not a grant‑making organization. We are your US‑based compliance and financial infrastructure partner — purpose‑built for Africa‑led organizations that are already doing the work and ready to scale. Rooted in Ubuntu — “I am because we are” — we grow together, but you lead your own work.

Partner with us
Each of our fiscal sponsors represents the strength, innovation, and leadership found within African communities. These are organizations with a proven track record — vetted, trusted, and ready to scale their impact with the support of Give to Africa’s 501(c)(3) platform.
The Model
What Is Fiscal Sponsorship?
Fiscal sponsorship is a legal arrangement that allows an established organization to receive US tax‑deductible donations and grants through a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit — without forming their own US entity.
For African nonprofits, this is transformational. Many world‑class organizations across the continent are locked out of international funding — not because their work isn’t strong, but because they lack a US‑based legal structure that donors and grant‑makers require. Give to Africa bridges that gap.
Step 1
You Apply & Get Approved
Your organization undergoes Give to Africa’s vetting process. We review your mission, governance, track record, and funding readiness.
Step 2
We Become Your US Fiscal Home
Donors and grant‑makers direct US tax‑deductible contributions to Give to Africa, designated for your organization. We receive, manage, and disburse those funds on your behalf.
Step 3
You Lead. We Steward.
Your team runs your programs independently. Give to Africa manages financial compliance, donor receipts, reporting, and IRS accountability — so you focus on your mission.
Model C — Pre‑Approved Grant Relationship
Give to Africa operates a Model C Pre‑Approved Grant Relationship — the IRS‑accepted fiscal sponsorship model that allows your organization to retain full operational independence while we provide financial oversight, compliance, and donor accountability.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is fiscal sponsorship the same as receiving a grant from Give to Africa?
No. Fiscal sponsorship is not a grant. Give to Africa does not provide financial support to sponsored organizations. We provide the US‑based legal and financial infrastructure that allows your organization to receive funds from external donors and grant‑makers who require a 501(c)(3) intermediary.
Do we need a pending grant to apply?
Not necessarily — but it is a strong advantage. Organizations with a pending grant requiring a US fiscal sponsor may apply year‑round through our Grant‑Ready pathway. Organizations without a pending grant may apply during our annual November enrollment.
Can we apply if we are not registered in our home country?
No. All applicants must be legally registered organizations in good standing in their home country. Informal or unregistered groups are not eligible at this time.
What is the administrative fee?
Give to Africa charges a 10% administrative fee on all funds received on behalf of the sponsored organization. There are no application or onboarding fees.
How long does the review process take?
Grant‑Ready applications are reviewed on a rolling basis — typically within 2–4 weeks of a complete submission. General annual applications submitted during November enrollment are reviewed and announced before year‑end.
Can we still run our own programs independently?
Yes — absolutely. Give to Africa’s Model C fiscal sponsorship is specifically designed to preserve your organization’s full operational independence. You lead your programs. We manage the US compliance infrastructure.
What happens after we are approved?
Once approved, your organization will sign a formal Fiscal Sponsorship Agreement with Give to Africa, be listed on our fiscal sponsor directory, and gain access to the YENDAA platform and donor network. Give to Africa will begin accepting designated contributions and grants on your behalf immediately.
Is Give to Africa’s fiscal sponsorship available to organizations outside Africa?
No. Our fiscal sponsorship program is exclusively for Africa‑led organizations operating on the African continent.
